The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
What is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)?
The MBTI is a self-validated instrument used to indicate personality preferences in four critical areas. It is quick to administer, cost efficient and user friendly. It is a powerful tool for recognizing the influence of personality preferences on decision making and behavior.
The MBTI has been in use for more than 50 years; is based on extensive research; has been taken by over 12 million people worldwide; and is translated into over 30 languages.
How is the MBTI used?
Michele uses the MBTI with adults, adolescents, couples and families to help foster understanding of the role personality preferences play in how we relate to one another.
The MBTI provides a foundation for individuals and couples to explore ways of enhancing relationships, and for parents to recognize the role of personality preferences in their child’s behavior and responses and to being parented. This understanding can help parents to modify parenting strategies to create a better fit between parent and child.
